welcome!

pflag Peel Region is a volunteer-run chapter of PFLAG Canada. With a rich history dating back to the early 1970s, we are dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for 2SLGBTQIA+ people and those who love them. Together, we are creating a just, caring, and accepting world for everyone.

We host caring peer-to-peer support groups at no charge, facilitate free, informative 2SLGBTQIA+ education workshops, host regular events, and curate a comprehensive database of care and educational resources to assist individuals, families, friends, and allies who are going through the coming-out process in navigating their journey of love, acceptance, and advocacy.

our history:

For over five decades, pflag Canada’s presence in Peel Region has been a beacon of support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, rooted in care, empathy and unwavering advocacy.

What began in the 1970s as a few courageous individuals offering guidance and allyship has grown into a thriving movement, expanding across Mississauga, Brampton, and beyond.

From pioneering early peer support groups to forming official chapters that uplift marginalized voices—our journey reflects a powerful legacy of inclusion, resilience, and progress.

Today, as pflag Peel continues to evolve, we stand on the shoulders of those who paved the way, ensuring that every individual, regardless of identity, finds acceptance, community, and unwavering support.
